LUNG cancer patients are more likely to get treatment to slow down the disease if they live in particular areas, according to a new report. The report – published by The NHS Information Centre, the Royal College of Physicians and the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership – reveals that across Britain, some people are eight times more likely to get active treatment than others.
LARGE numbers of patients are being sent home from A&E departments just to meet government targets, it is claimed today. The NHS Information Centre says up to 11 per cent of patients are being discharged in the last 10 minutes of the four-hour waiting time target.
